Hon. Helen E. Freedman Named Chair Of NYCLA's Judicial Section

Hon. Helen E. Freedman, a justice in the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department, has been appointed chair of the New York County Lawyers' Association's (NYCLA) Judicial Section. Among the projects in which the Section will be involved is the Working Group on State Bar's Task Force on Proposed Rules of Judicial Conduct and issues like judicial compensation and overload. Justice Freedman, a past president of the New York State Association of Women Judges and Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert, is also a member of the Pattern Jury Instructions Committee of the Association of Supreme Court Justices, New York Women's Bar Association and the New York State and Federal Judicial Council. She is also a fellow at the American Bar Foundation and New York State Bar Foundation. Justice Freedman is the author of several legal publications.
