The Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) is planning a CLE seminar titled Managing the Litigation PR Process: When Public Opinion Matters.
The program is scheduled for Friday, January 11 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the LACBA Conference Center, 281 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
The seminar is designed for litigators involved in the high-stakes litigation battles with their corporate and publicly traded clients. Regulation FD changed the process in which companies must communicate in the court of public opinion, combined with an aggressive media - including bloggers - who cover trials 24/7. Corporate defendants, along with the litigators, must create and implement a targeted and proactive public relations and investor relations strategy to thwart highly aggressive plaintiffs who understand the value of being valuable sources to reporters. This does not mean that a defendant always has to talk to the press, only when public opinion matters before, during and after the trial.
The speaker will be David Silver, Silver Public Relations.
