Greenberg Traurig, LLP together with ACC's Greater New York Chapter has scheduled a CLE event titled Antitrust Enforcement Prospects in the New Administration: The Experience to Date for Tuesday, November 17, from 8:45 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. at its offices in the MetLife Building, 200 Park Avenue, the 38th Floor in New York.
A year after the election of Barack Obama and in a still-uncertain economic climate, prudent corporate counsel officers have to assess the tone of the new administration concerning competition issues and the language and actions that may signal increased antitrust enforcement. They have to be aware of the practices that are likely to be scrutinized, the industries that may be targeted, and the direction the law might be headed.
This panel will discuss insights into the litigation and transactional issues that might be on the horizon. The speakers include the FTC's regional director, in-house antitrust counsel, and members of Greenberg Traurig's antitrust practice from three of the firm's offices, including Allan Van Fleet, shareholder, Green berg Traurig - Houston and chair-elect of the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law. The 9,000-member ABA section has had substantial exchanges on policy issues with key enforcers and legislators over the past year.
Other panelists are Leonard L. Gordon, director of the Federal Trade Commission's Northeast Regional Office; Marc Brotman, senior corporate counsel, Pfizer; Irving Scher, senior counsel, Greenberg Traurig - New York; Jamie Serota, chair, Antitrust Litigation Practice, Green berg Traurig;and Scott Martin and Andrew Berg, both shareholders with the firm.
