Georgetown Law Seminar - Advanced E-Discovery Seminar In Virginia

On Thursday and Friday, November18 and 19, Georgetown Law CLE is offering an advanced E-Discovery Institute. The seminar will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City, 1250 South Hayes Street in Arlington, Virginia.

The sessions begin on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 6:00 p.m., followed by a pizza party. On Friday the seminar begins at 8:30 a.m., and the meeting will adjourn at 4:30 p.m.

The Advanced E-Discovery Institute offers attendees an opportunity to focus on the pressing issues of today's legal climate with professionals from across the country.

The continuing recession has motivated corporations, law firms, government agencies and service providers to reduce costs whenever possible, including the challenging sphere of e-discovery. Today's economy requires organizations to maintain specialists or outside consultants to oversee an e-discovery process that is financially sound and legally defensible.

Practitioners need to learn how to reduce expenses and risk while delivering quality and defensible results and capitalizing on the benefits of best practices. The seminar is designed to assist in this process.

The topics include an Update of E-discovery Case Law; Hot Topics for Corporate Counsel; Handling E-discovery in Class Actions and Large Complex Cases; a View on International E-discovery; a Focus on Technology: Databases; and a Judicial Roundtable.

The keynote speaker is Hon. James F. Holderman, chief judge, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and co-creator of the 7th Circuit E-Discovery Pilot Program.

Other speakers include Mark L. Austrian, Kelley Drye & Warren LLP; Theresa Beaumont, discovery counsel, Google Inc.; and David J. Lender, Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP.
