FTI Consulting, Inc. announced the appointment of new global leadership for the firm’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting and Strategic Communications segments, effective January 1, 2018.
Paul Ficca, who previously served as Global Leader of the Construction Solutions practice within the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment, has been named Global Segment Leader of Forensic & Litigation Consulting. He succeeds Neal Hochberg, who has led the segment since 2009. Mark McCall, who most recently served as Global Chief Operating Officer and Head of the Americas within the Strategic Communications segment, has been named Global Segment Leader of Strategic Communications, assuming the role from Edward Reilly, who has led the segment since 2011.
Both Mr. Ficca and Mr. McCall will join the firm’s Executive Committee, which includes segment leaders, regional leaders and heads of key corporate functions. Mr. Hochberg and Mr. Reilly will both move into new roles within FTI Consulting and will work with Mr. Ficca and Mr. McCall to ensure a seamless leadership transition. In their new roles, Mr. Hochberg will focus his efforts on leading the firm’s largest global investigations and forensic accounting engagements, and Mr. Reilly will focus his efforts on client development.
“Paul and Mark bring the ideal mix of client service, leadership capabilities, global expertise and deep relationships to their roles. They have a deep understanding of their businesses and impressive track records of building successful practices. I am confident they will steer their segments toward the next stage of growth,” said Steven H. Gunby, President and Chief Executive Officer of FTI Consulting.
Mr. Gunby added, “I would like to thank Neal and Ed for their dedication to and leadership of their businesses, as well as their support in facilitating a positive succession process that surfaced excellent professionals to drive our next phase of growth. They are tremendous leaders who attracted and developed the best people, invested in opportunities where we have a right to win, and positioned us at the heart of the most important client matters. They have laid a strong foundation upon which Paul and Mark can build.”
Mr. Ficca joined FTI Consulting in 2003 and has served as Global Leader of the Construction Solutions practice since 2006. Under his leadership, the Construction Solutions practice has delivered sustained double-digit top- and bottom-line growth and today has more than 230 professionals in 32 locations across the globe. The practice has been recognized as a market leader, with 16 professionals named to the Who’s Who Legal: Construction Expert Witnesses list in 2017, and was honored on Forbes’ America’s Best Management Consulting Firms list for Construction & Infrastructure in 2017.
Commenting on the leadership transition, Mr. Hochberg said, “Paul is an outstanding leader who knows how to build and lead a global business. He knows our clients, our people and how the firm operates. I am confident he will take our business forward in a way that creates countless opportunities for our people and enables us to provide the best-in-class service to our clients.”
Mr. Ficca added, “I look forward to working alongside my colleagues across Forensic & Litigation Consulting and the broader firm as we continue to invest behind both our core positions and in new adjacencies that we believe will support our next generation of growth. I also want to thank Neal for his devotion to our business and our people over the past nine years. He has played a critical role in extending our leading positions by attracting and supporting the development of the best people, and because of that commitment, we have a strong team of leaders in place to enable our growth aspirations.”
Mr. McCall, who is based in New York, previously served as Americas Head and Chief Operating Officer of the Strategic Communications segment. He also led the segment’s M&A, Crisis Communications & Special Situations practice, overseeing the segment’s growth in M&A, restructuring and IPO-related work. Throughout his career, Mr. McCall has provided strategic counsel on complex communications challenges to numerous private and public clients, and he is actively involved in many of the Company’s largest engagements.
Mr. Reilly said, “I can think of no one better to lead the Strategic Communications segment into the next phase of growth than Mark. He is an incredibly capable leader who brings a great mix of operational expertise, industry knowledge and global experience to the role. Perhaps as important, he is a selfless leader who knows how to not only leverage his own strengths, but to leverage the contributions of other leaders across the enterprise.”
Mr. McCall added, “Over the last three years, we have taken an intense look at our business, and as a result we have a much stronger position from which to grow. I want to thank Ed for his mentorship over the years and for allowing me to take on the leadership of this business. Looking forward, we will continue to invest in areas where we see the business and our clients’ needs moving. I also look forward to collaborating with my colleagues across FTI Consulting’s other business segments to deliver enhanced returns for our clients, our people and our shareholders.”
