DRI has selected the Vdara Hotel, 2600 West Harmon Avenue in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the site for its Damages Seminar in March.
The seminar will run from Wednesday to Friday, March 17-19, and will include tips from general counsel and in-house counsel about how to be invaluable to clients; new law and innovative presentation techniques; what today's judges are thinking; an opportunity to network with peers and clients from around the country; and CLE credits. Speakers will share creative thoughts on how to understand and manage client expectations; how to evaluate and strategize a case; how to address intangible values; new rules and junk science; how to listen and talk to juries about value and money; current trends in damages law; and how to harmonize empathy, sympathy, ethics and justice in the courtroom and beyond.
Among the speakers are Paul Lancaster Adams, associate general counsel for Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Washington; Tomas J. Fernandez, senior litigation attorney for Walgreen Co. in Chicago; Guy E. Hughes, attorney with Dinsmore & Shohl LLP in Lexington, Kentucky and member, DRI's Trial Tactics Committee and program vice chair; and Sidney K. Kanazawa, a partner with McGuireWoods LLP in Los Angeles and a Los Angeles Magazine "Super Lawyer."
