This summer, the DC Bar Association will offer a two-part series looking at internal employment investigations. Part I, Internal Employment Investigation Essentials: How to Conduct in Private Sector, will be held Monday, August 22, and part II, Privilege, Ethics and Strategy, will be held Monday, August 29.
Both will be held at the association, 1101 K. Street, NW in Washington, DC from 6:00 to 9:15 p.m.
Part I will focus on private sector investigations and examine when to investigate a complaint or violation of an employment law. A panel will offer advice on establishing an investigation plan, interviewing relevant parties and maintaining confidentiality.
Part II will examine privilege ethics and strategy issues in employment investigations. The faculty will offer practical examples that will help attendees understand the complex attorney-client privilege and work product doctrine issues in the internal employment investigation context.
Among the faculty are Lily Garcia, Clearpire Law Co., PLLC; Robin McCune, Strayer University Inc.; S. Micah Salb, Lippman Semsker & Salb LLC; and Thomas Murphy, Hunton & Williams.
