The DC Bar Association will present a CLE seminar titled Conflicts of Interest: Uncovering the Issues and Practical Solutions.
The program will take place on Tuesday, January 15 from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1250 H Street, NW, Washington, DC.
This course will provide the practicing attorney with an understanding of conflict-of-interest issues under the amended District of Columbia Rules of Professional Conduct and the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct. The topics covered will include the lawyer's duty of loyalty, representing both sides in a business transaction, being adverse to one's own client in an unrelated matter, conflict-of-interest considerations involving former clients, and conflict issues after changing law firms. The program also will address the consequences of a conflict of interest, including disqualification, professional discipline, and malpractice liability.
The speaker will be Eric Hirschhorn, Winston & Strawn LLP.
