Colorado Bar CLE Conference Planned For January In Vail

The Colorado Bar Association has chosen Vail as its location for its National CLE Conference, which will run from Wednesday, January 5 to Sunday, January 9 at the Marriott Mountain Resort, 715 Lionshead Circle.

Live programs and top-notch speakers from all over the country, networking opportunities, and an early morning and late afternoon CLE format to allow time to enjoy world-class skiing and the beautiful mountain setting are hallmarks of this CLE event. Cutting-edge topics in Bankruptcy, Civil Litigation, Family Law, Health Law, Intellectual Property, Labor and Employment and Real Estate/Land Use/Environment Law will be presented, and up to 23 CLE credits and ethics credits are available.

The program will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and end on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. In the Bankruptcy area, topics that will be covered are Ponzi - Defending against the Trustee/ Defenses to Fraudulent Conveyance Actions; Iqbal & Twombly: Application of the New Heightened Standards in Pleading Bankruptcy Cases; Lender Liability and the Erosion of Secured Creditor Rights; and Legal Research Made Easy with WestlawNext. The Intellectual Property agenda covers inequitable conduct, strategic use of the joint infringement defense, and Managing the Perils and Opportunities of Social Networking Websites: A Trademark Owner's Perspective with Christian Dowell, legal director, Global Brand Protection, Yahoo! Inc. A patent corporate counsel panel on Saturday afternoon will include Aaron Brodsky, managing counsel, Patent, Trademark & Copyright Group, Oracle. That will be followed by another panel discussion, What Hath Bilski v. Kappos Wrought: Fallout in the Courts and the USPTO.
