On Friday, March 19, the Colorado Bar Association will hold its annual Spring Workers' Compensation Update 2010 at the CLECI Large Classroom, 1900 Grant Street in Denver.
The program will run from 9 a.m. to 4:25 p.m. Highlights will include a case law update(CO Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and ICAP); evidence-based medicine and the role of the medical treatment guidelines in Colorado's Workers' Compensation System; the complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) diagnostic criteria; issue and claim preclusion in workers' compensation appeals; legal ethics; and practice issues revisited: how three recent changes in workers' compensation law are playing out in the real world.
ICAP Administrative Law Judge Curt Kriksciun will talk about issue and claim preclusion matters that often trip up workers' compensation attorneys filing appeals. The legal ethics portion will be taught through humorous skits and songs, and in the afternoon, Practice Issues Revisited is scheduled in three 20-minute presentations with Kristin A. Caruso, McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP; Suzanne M. Gall, Suzanne M. Gall LLC; and Margaret D. Keck, Thomas Pollart & Miller, LLCspeaking.
