The Bar Association of San Francisco has scheduled a brown bag luncheon on Thursday, December 9, titled Class Action Arbitration.
It will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street in San Francisco.
The speakers will cover the following material: the kinds of cases in which a plaintiff or defendant, as an individual or a class, would be better off in arbitration as opposed to jury trial; how the legal challenges for class certification in arbitration differ from the courtroom; whether class action is appropriate for arbitration; and whether arbitration is a more efficient and cost effective way to resolve a class action.
The program speakers are Eric Barnum, Schiff Hardin, LLP; Judge William Cahill, JAMS; Mark Chavez, Chavez & Gertler, LLP; and John S. Worden, Schiff Hardin LLP.
