The Chicago Bar Association (CBA) has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Antitrust Update: Price Fixing Claims in the Wake of Twombly & Corporate Counsel and Managing the Antitrust Asset.
The program will take place on Tuesday, April 15 from noon to 2 p.m. at the CBA offices, 321 South Plymouth Court, Chicago.
This program will address the ramifications of the Twombly decision on pleading an antitrust price fixing claim, the implications and problems that both plaintiffs and defendants are likely to confront when someone "jumps the gun" and files a claim before the Twombly pleading requirements can be met, as well as a host of other issues.
Part two of this program will address strategies for in-house legal counsel to capture the value inherent in antitrust claims, and will cover questions concerning whether an antitrust claim may be assigned, contractual provisions for effecting the assignment of claims, and considerations concerning management of antitrust claims including whether they should be pursued within a class or opt-out context.
The program moderator is Jonathan L. Lewis, Mayer Brown LLP.
