Connecticut Bar President Ralph Monaco attended Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's iCivics State Chair Conference in California to discuss how the CBA can help promote iCivics as a resource for students and teachers across the country. President Monaco was honored with a special invite from Justice O'Connor, who founded iCivics and currently works to promote the importance of civics education among our nation's children.
Increased civics education throughout Connecticut was named one of President Monaco's presidential initiatives at his induction at the CBA Annual Meeting last June. The CBA was privileged to have Justice O'Connor speak at an event last June. In the coming months, the CBA will host a civics education training program for teachers and will conduct a mock trial of the Boston Massacre trial with Connecticut students in celebration of Law Day.
