The MCLE has scheduled a seminar for February, Executive Compensation Law, to teach lawyers, whether they represent executives, advise board members, or counsel shareholders, how to handle the hottest issues and guide clients through some of the more sophisticated and thorny negotiations.
This regulatory and strategic update will be held on Wednesday, February 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the MCLE, Upper Level Seminar Room in Boston.
Attendees will learn from a panel of experts how to negotiate executive compensation packages that comply with the new regulatory landscape and result in fully aligned interests between executives and their companies. The panelists will focus on advanced techniques and theories used in today's executive compensation negotiations. They include Marian A. Tse, Goodwin Procter LLP; Marcia S. Wagner, The Wagner Law Group, PC; and Kimberly B. Wethly, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.
Some of the specific topics for discussion are how to balance executive needs with company needs; performance and equity-based compensation; deferred compensation, 409A, and other tax matters; and the relevance and role of claw backs, Sarbanes-Oxley, and TARP.
