Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced the addition of three new partners in Dallas, continuing the firm’s strategic growth plan in Texas. Those joining are litigators Randy Gordon and Tamara Baggett and corporate attorney Jenni Tauzel.
“The expansion of our office in Dallas is incredibly gratifying,” said Mark Bayer, Dallas office managing partner. “Last September, we moved to the new PwC Tower at Park District to accommodate our growth, and the arrival of Randy, Tamara and Jenni is further evidence of how quickly we’ve become a destination for the region’s premier legal talent.”
With the new additions, Barnes & Thornburg’s Dallas office now has 27 attorneys, 10 of which were added in 2018.
Randy Gordon, previously a director at Crowe & Dunlevy, has more than 25 years of experience and focuses on complex litigation with an emphasis on antitrust and RICO cases. Gordon also advises businesses on distribution plans and provides legal and economic analysis of proposed corporate transactions, and he has counseled clients across dozens of industries, including serving as general counsel of a global trade association for the semiconductor industry. Beyond his legal work, Gordon is an Executive Professor of Law at Texas A&M University, where he holds joint appointments in History and as Special Advisor to the Dean of the School of Innovation and Vice President of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.
Tamara Baggett, previously a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, is a complex commercial litigator who handles contract disputes, construction and fiduciary litigation, internet defamation and brand protection matters, and unfair trade practice cases, as well as various real estate, intellectual property, antitrust and tort disputes. She represents owners, general contractors and specialty subcontractors in federal and state court litigation, arbitration, courts of appeals, and before regulatory and administrative agencies.
Jenni Tauzel, previously of counsel at Winstead PC, represents individual and institutional investors involved in organization, capitalization and reorganization matters. Tauzel, who is also a Certified Public Accountant, advises buyers and sellers in M&A transactions and capital raising as well as lenders and borrowers in secured financing transactions. Her clients span several industries, including energy, real estate, manufacturing, and aerospace, among others.
