The University Of Texas School Of Law has scheduled its annual Jay L. Westbrook Bankruptcy Conference for Thursday and Friday, November 19 and 20, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin.
The program will begin on Thursday at 9 a.m. and adjourn to a reception at 5:30 p.m., and on Friday it will run from 8:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m.
The conference, which offers timely topics, an expert faculty, concurrent business and consumer tracks on Thursday, and panel discussions, will include the following: The Coming Wave of Real Estate Bankruptcies and What You Need to Know about Them, a panel discussion with Mark E. Andrews, Cox Smith Matthews, Hon. Stacey G.C. Jernigan, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Clifton R. Jessup Jr., Greenberg Traurig LLP, and Michael A. McConnell, Kelly Hart & Hallman, LLP; Geopolitics, Technology, and Prospects for the U.S. Oil and Gas Industries with A. F. Alhajji of NGP Energy Capital Management, LLC; and 363 Sales v. Plans: What's Happening, What's Fair?, a discussion with Jay L. Westbrook of the University of Texas School of Law about the future of Chapter 11 and the impact of that on the GM and Chrysler cases. Sanford J. Leeds III of the McCombs School of Business, the University of Texas at Austin, will give an update on the economy and the banks.
