Akin Gump announces the launch today of an interactive map resource that provides current information on U.S. state, county and local government business closure and stay-at-home orders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The map can be accessed directly here and is available on Akin Gump’s COVID-19 Resource Center, www.AGCOVID19.com.
Map users will be able to see current COVID-19-related orders for particular U.S. jurisdictions, including stay-at-home and mandatory business closure orders. The map includes the type of order for each jurisdiction, the individuals and businesses affected and excepted, the duration of the order and other pertinent information, including links to relevant online resources. The map is updated as new orders are issued or changed.
Commenting on the launch of the tool, Akin Gump public law and policy practice co-head Brian Pomper stated, “It is critical for businesses and organizations to remain abreast of the numerous governmental orders being issued in response to the pandemic, many of which affect their employees and operations. At the same time, the speed with which these orders are being issued and the disparity of their impacts make this extremely challenging. We launched this tool as a way to help clients and other users quickly see any orders affecting a particular jurisdiction and their scope and duration as well as other information to help understand the impacts.”
Akin Gump launched its broader COVID-19 Resource Center earlier this month. The Center is updated multiple times a day with insights and analysis on the latest legal, regulatory and technical developments tailored to industry-specific interests and issues related to the ongoing outbreak and response. The Center also includes a curated list of links to trusted organizations with up-to-date news and information on the outbreak.
