On Tuesday, May 11, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld will present a seminar titled When Congress Comes Calling: A Guide to Responding to Congressional Committee Investigations in New York City.
The program is being held at the offices of Akin Gump, One Bryant Parkand will begin at noon and end at 1:30 p.m.
The seminar will offer participants insight into how to properly respond if their client or company becomes the subject of a congressional investigation. In light of the new enforcement rules being proposed and greater efforts of government to prevent fraud and corruption by organizations, in-house and outside counsel must prepare for this event.The faculty will address legal issues involved in a congressional investigation and provide answers about testifying, document production, witness preparation, subpoena power of congressional committees and other vexing questions that arise when one is called before a congressional committee. They will explore the serious consequences of interactions with congressional committees and how to comply.
