On Wednesday, May 12, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP will host a breakfast seminar titled Recognizing IP Issues in Business Transactions - A Primer - and Recent Significant Changes in the IP Law Landscape.
It will begin with breakfast at 8:30 a.m., and the program will run from 9 to 10 a.m. and is located at 2029 Century Park East, Suite 2400 in Los Angeles.
Richard J. Codding, a partner with the firm, will explain the importance of intellectual property in business transactions. The value of patents in particular has skyrocketed with the creation of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in 1982. The discussion will cover how to recognize and address IP issues that frequently arise in business transactions; how to deal with those issues without diverting the focus of the agreement; and recent changes in the IP landscape, including Supreme Court decisions, that will have significant implications for corporations.
