The State Bar of Texas has scheduled an Advanced Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Course on Thursday and Friday, September 16 and 17.
It will run from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday at the Westin Galleria Hotel, 5060 West Alabama in Houston.
An Oil, Gas and Energy Resources 101 course will be held a day early, September 15, also at the Westin Galleria.
Among the issues this seminar will cover are geothermal issues, boilerplate in oil and gas transactions, ethics in negotiations, letter agreements, municipal regulation of urban drilling, the basics of oil and gas taxation, and successfully conducting internal investigations in the oil and gas industry.
Thursday's luncheon presentation by Walter G. Mayfield of the Goldston Oil Company in Houston is Energy Overview and Update on State and Federal Regulatory Issues, and Friday's luncheon presentation, The New List of Worst Oil and Gas Cases, will be presented by Robert C. Bledsoe and Michael E. Curry, both of Cotton Bledsoe Tighe & Dawson.
