The State Bar of Texas has scheduled an Advanced Civil Trial Course in San Antonio in July and in Dallas in August.
It will run from Wednesday to Friday, July 27 to 29, at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio and from August 24 to 26 at the Westin Galleria in Dallas from 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
Topics include a federal court update, a legislative update, and a Texas Supreme Court case law update; an update on federal rules, federal pleading standards and Twombly ;Texas Supreme Court trends; challenges for cause in the jury selection process; business divorce litigation, including minority shareholder oppression and plaintiff and defendant perspectives; a cutting-edge appellate issues panel; and a judges panel.
Among the speakers are Hon. Debra Lehrmann, justice, Supreme Court of Texas; N. Scott Fletcher and David L. Horan, Jones Day; Karen S. Precella, Haynes and Boone, LLP; and Erwin Chimerinsky, founding dean, University of California, Irvine.
