The State Bar of Texas is offering a three-day Advanced Civil Trial course,Wednesday to Friday, July 21-23, at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa, 9800 Hyatt Resort Drive in San Antonio.
It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday.
The live course will also be presented in Dallas in August and in Houston in October.
Topics to be covered include Evidence Jeopardy - An Interactive Presentation; Using Clients as Experts; Lions of Litigation; and Use of Social Media in Litigation.
Michael D. Marin, Vinson & Elkins, will discuss Twombly, Iqbal, and the Current State of Federal Pleading Standards, and George Parker Young of Haynes and Boone will present Causation in the Texas Supreme Court and Chapter 33. A panel discussion on Thursday titled After Daubert: How to Bolster or Attack an Expert's Testimony after Receiving a Daubert Challenge will include Hon. Linda B. Thomas, chief justice (ret.), Fifth Court of Appeals and JAMS. Top Insurance Issues Civil Litigators Need to Know, Using High Technology without Spending Big Money, and Malpractice Trends are other topics for discussion.
