The American Conference Institute (ACI) has scheduled a two-day seminar, the National Forum on Defending and Managing Employment Discrimination Litigation, on Wednesday and Thursday, December 8 and 9, at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf, 2500 Mason Street in San Francisco.
The conference will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. on Thursday. Workshop A, a pre-conference international workshop titled The Cross- Border Employment Agreements Swap - An Unparalleled Benchmarking Opportunity - will run from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and workshop B, ERISA Boot Camp for Labor & Employment Defense Attorneys: What You Need to Know about Benefit Plans and Fiduciary-Related Matters, will run from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Designed for in-house counsel and employment litigation outside counsel practicing in labor and employment law, employment discrimination and class actions, the institute will cover such topics as age discrimination, procedural strategies for winning employment discrimination cases, the rise of civil rights class actions, special issues in gender/ sex discrimination and sexual orientation claims, and mediation and arbitration of discrimination claims. On Wednesday morning, a panel discussion will cover containing costs, including ESI/e-discovery burdens and attorney fees, and a view from the bench, when a panel of judges speaks out on how to convey complexities to a court, will begin the day on Thursday.
