On Thursday, May 7, ACC Greater New York Chapter and Dorsey & Whitney LLP will co-host a Symposium for Corporate Leaders at the New York Palace Hotel, 455 Madison Avenue, Second Floor, NYC.The program will commence with registration and breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by the program from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and conclude with a lunch and keynote address from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Scheduled to speak among others are Ella K. Solomons, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP; Robert A. Bartell, Duff & Phelps, LLC; and Steven S. Fang, Dorsey & Whitney. The keynote address will be delivered by David Gergen, CNN senior political analyst, U.S. News & World Report editor-at-large and adviser to presidents for over 30 years. He will be introduced by former U.S. Vice President Walter Mondale. Mr. Gergen's talk is titled Eyewitness to Power: Leadership in America. It is a look at what lies ahead for Congress and the Obama administration.
The general session, Lawyers, Guns and Money: Perspectives on Global and Domestic Corporate Fraud will be followed by two breakout sessions to run concurrently. The first option will cover Dealing with the Financial Crisis: Opportunities and Pitfalls In-House Ethics FAQs - Answering the Top 10 Questions. The second option will be When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Start Suing: Director and Officer Liability in a Challenging Economy and Practical Advice on What to Do About It.
