The ACCA-SoCal chapter has scheduled a daylong CLE event that looks forward to an economic rebound. Preparing for the Rebound - The Forecast for Complex Litigation & Governmental Enforcement will be held on Tuesday, November 17, from 2:15 to 10 p.m. at the Staples center, 111 South Figueroa Street in Los Angeles.
The program will begin with The Forecast for Complex Litigation, including trends in class action litigation, greenwashing consumer class actions, a downward trend in securities class actions, and decisions on pleading requirements that impact class actions. Neal Marder and Steve Smerek will be the speakers. All the speakers are partners with Winston & Strawn LLP.
After a break, David Hickey will offer an e-discovery & Legal Outsourcing Update, including the new California Electronic Discovery Act and the Myths and Realities of Legal Outsourcing. Steve Atlee will follow with a discussion about Best Practices for Handling Claims under the Consumer Legal Remedies Act. Finally, David Stern will moderate a panel discussion that will include The New Antitrust Enforcement Policy, SEC Enforcement - Top Trends, and FCPA Enforcement - Top Trends.
